Pretest
SmartPrep begins with a pretest to assess your current knowledge across four content areas: Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language Usage. Each module has its own pretest. When you start a module, you’ll first complete the associated pretest. After completing the pretest, you’ll receive a summary page showing your total score, the number of correct and incorrect responses, and the ability to review each question with its rationale. Remember, the pretest can only be taken once, but it will always be available for review.
Lessons
SmartPrep offers 65 lessons, each aligned with a critical standard tested on the ATI TEAS exam.
Study Plan Modes
You can choose between two study plan modes:
• Personalized Study Plan (PSP): Based on your pretest performance, a personalized study plan is created for you. This plan highlights the lessons you need to focus on, allowing you to concentrate on areas where you need improvement while spending less time on content you already know.
• Full Study Plan (FSP): If you prefer to review all the content in a module, the full study plan gives you access to every lesson. This option is ideal if you want a comprehensive review before the ATI TEAS exam.
You can switch between the personalized and full study plans at any time, especially if you encounter lessons with related concepts.
Lesson Enrichments and Features
Each lesson includes various resources to enhance your learning experience:
• Key Concept Videos: Most lessons include two videos that cover important concepts related to the lesson topic.
• Images: Visual aids are embedded within the lessons to support your understanding of the material.
• Glossary: Key vocabulary words are highlighted within the lesson and are also accessible in the content module glossary.
• Bookmark: You can bookmark your place in the lesson or mark important information for future reference.
• Toolbar: The toolbar allows you to take notes, highlight text, and access additional resources like weblinks and hyperlinks. It appears when you right or left-click on the text.
End of Lesson Quiz
At the end of each lesson, you’ll find a five-question quiz designed to test your understanding of the material. After completing the quiz, you can review the question rationales or revisit the section of the lesson that covers the quiz content. Your performance on the quiz will be visually marked:
• Green: All questions related to the content were answered correctly.
• Orange: Half of the questions were answered correctly.
• Red: All questions for that content were answered incorrectly.
You can only take the quiz once, but it will remain available for review. If you complete a second personalized study plan after the post-test, new quiz questions will be provided for further practice.
Posttest
Each content area module has its own posttest. After completing all the lessons and quizzes in your personalized study plan, the posttest for that module becomes available. Like the pretest, the posttest summary page provides your total score, the number of correct and incorrect answers, and the option to review each question’s rationale.
If you answer any posttest questions incorrectly, a second personalized study plan (PSP 2) is created. This plan may include lessons you’ve already reviewed or new lessons. If a previously reviewed lesson appears in PSP 2, you’ll receive five new quiz questions to check your understanding.

What is the purpose of the end of lesson quiz?

How many times can I take the pretest and posttest?
You can take the pretest only once. If you don’t score perfectly on the posttest, a second personalized study plan will be provided. Once you complete the new lessons and quizzes, you’ll have a second attempt at the posttest. The questions on the posttest remain the same for both attempts.
