Firewalls help keep you safe, but they can block some important information that can prevent ATI from functioning properly. To Identify and adjust Firewall settings, here are some general guidelines. If you are using a 3rd party program or app, these directions may not apply.
On Windows Devices
- Click on the Start button (Windows icon) in the bottom left corner of your screen.
- Type “Windows Security” and press Enter to open the Windows Security app.
- In the Windows Security app, click on “Firewall & network protection” in the left sidebar.
- Under “Firewall & network protection settings,” you’ll see three network profiles: Domain network, Private network, and Public network. If the Firewall is on, it will be listed as “on” next to each profile.
- If prompted, confirm the action by clicking “Yes” or entering your administrator password.
On Mac devices.
- Open System Preferences: Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner and select “System Preferences”.
- Navigate to Security & Privacy: In System Preferences, click on “Security & Privacy”.
Go to Firewall: In the Security & Privacy window, click on the “Firewall” tab.
Check the Status: You’ll see a status indicator that shows whether the firewall is turned on or off. - View Configuration (if needed): To see specific firewall settings, you can unlock the panel (by clicking the padlock icon and entering your password) and then click on the “Options” button to view and modify firewall rules.
On iPad
- Open the “Settings” app on your iPad.
- Scroll down and tap on “General”.
- Tap “VPN & Network” or “Network & Internet”, depending on your iPad model.
- Look for the “Firewall” or “Security” option and tap on it.
- Here, you can view and manage the firewall settings on your iPad.
