How do I register for the TEAS Exam?

There are many different ways to take the TEAS exam. This article explains the different options and what you should do before your register for a TEAS exam.

First step:  check with the school(s) where you plan to submit an application to understand their TEAS registration policy. Some schools handle registration and payment through their own website while others utilize ATI for test registration, payment, and proctoring of the exam.   Each school sets its own admissions and TEAS exam policy including the number of attempts and length of time between attempts.

Approximately 50% of schools will handle TEAS exam registration through their own website/admissions department.  This means you will register, pay and take the TEAS through your school.   You will need an ATI username and password in order to take the exam and get your exam results.  Your exam results are automatically sent to the school where you took your TEAS exam.

If your school has asked you to register through ATI, there are a few different options:

1.  TEAS at ATI:  This is a TEAS exam that is taken remotely (at home) and is proctored by ATI (not the school).  After you finish your exam, it is your responsibility to send your results to your desired school(s).

2.  TEAS Online at Institution:  This is a TEAS Exam that is taken remotely (at home) and is proctored by the school.  These schools use ATI for registration and payment purposes.  When you register, you will choose the school as well as the date and time of the exam.  Your results are automatically sent to that school following your exam.

3.  TEAS at Institution:  This is a TEAS Exam that is taken in person at a school or testing center and is proctored by the school.  These schools use ATI for registration and payment purposes.  When you register, you will choose the school as well as the date and time, and location of the exam.  Your results are automatically sent to that school following your exam.

4. TEAS at PSI:  This is a TEAS Exam that is taken at a PSI testing center.  This is a national testing center with locations across the United States.  The TEAS exam is proctored by PSI.  The TEAS at PSI exam can be taken in person or remotely (at home).  You will pay for your TEAS exam through the ATI website first and then log into your ATI account to schedule your exam with PSI.  After you finish your exam, it is your responsibility to send your results to your desired school(s).
